Location: Family Island, The Bahamas (on-site, island/remote environment)

Arrangement: Full-time, executive leadership | Reports to Ownership/Board

THE OPPORTUNITY

Lead the business and brand of an award-winning private island resort. We’re seeking a hands-on General Manager who pairs five-star hospitality with the grit and know-how required for remote island operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own the business. Drive RevPAR/ADR and GOP targets while protecting — and elevating — the guest experience.

  • Lead the service culture. Set the standard across Rooms, F&B, Spa/Wellness, Activities/Marine, and Engineering, and hold every department to it.

  • Run island logistics. Coordinate ferry/seaplane schedules, supply chain, and vendor relationships that keep a remote property running smoothly.

  • Protect the property and its people. Lead hurricane preparedness and resilience planning, and uphold safety, risk, and compliance standards.

  • Deliver unforgettable stays. Elevate guest personalization and boutique programming to drive reviews, loyalty, and repeat bookings.

  • Build the team. Recruit, train, and develop a multi-national staff — workforce planning, succession, and partnering on work permits.

  • Steward the asset. Oversee capital planning (FF&E/OS&E), budgeting, and projects delivered on time and to standard — including utilities (generators, desalination), preventative maintenance, and sustainability.

  • Represent the property. Be the credible, clear-eyed voice with ownership, partners, and the local community.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 8–12+ years leading luxury or boutique resorts — island or remote-property experience strongly preferred.

  • A proven track record of improving margins without compromising the guest experience.

  • Calm, hands-on, visible leadership — the kind of presence guests and staff both trust.

  • Working knowledge of the engineering side: generators, desalination, logistics, and regulatory compliance.

  • A genuine talent magnet — someone who coaches leaders, raises standards, and holds teams accountable.

  • A data-driven operator, fluent with PMS/POS dashboards and operational KPIs.

  • Fluent English required.
